KERN CITIZENS FOR PROPERTY RIGHTSWhat We BelieveWe believe the nation's Founders intended for all Americans to have the freedom to use and to be secure in their privately owned property whether it belongs to an individual, a family farm operation, a small business or a large corporation. This freedom is under serious attack both locally and nationally. Environmentalists, "trails activists" and other users of land have aggressively pursued portions of privately owned property for their own purposes. Local elected officials and bureaucrats must be monitored to ensure that the property owner is respected. Those who desire property owned by others should consider purchasing that property through Nature Conservancies or other respected methods Nationally, the egregious "Kelo" decision by the US Supreme Court has energized the populace to fight back against the disgraceful abuse of eminent domain proceedings by governments, allowing them to take the property of one individual and hand it over to another private individual for their profit-making enterprise. Kern Citizens for Property Rights will work to ensure that all of our precious freedoms are defended especially the basic right to own property. |
